The caped crusader made a flying visit to Nyora Raceway on Saturday night June 2nd and he smashed and slammed his competitors in his Bat Valiant and came away with a huge win in a twenty car ‘Sherlow Used Cars Demolition Derby’ in front of a spectacular crowd delighted to see good overcome evil at the South Gippsland entertainment venue.

Batman topped off a wonderful evening for spectators who got to see Carly Walsh win the Ladies of the Dirt Wingless Sprint, the King of Wingless at Nyora Travis Millar continued on his winning ways in the Open class and Australian Champion Trevor Perry won the Grand Prix Midgets South Gippsland Shootout.

Captain Risky got up to shenanigans all night, trying to join races he was not entitled to be in and crashing through portable loo’s completing destroying them, a Volvo dropped from 45 feet in the air as a crane let it go and flattened it like a pancake whilst a boat hit the turf and just bounced around a little supported by Gows Cranes, then spectacular fireworks supported by Peninsula Fireworks closed out the night after the Demolition Derby.

The crowd though had some to see Brad ‘Batman’ Warren win the Demolition Derby and he did so against tough competition such as ‘Mad Mick’ Merriman, Kayn Shmal, Stephen Douglas who was on a mission in the big event and Dale ‘Captain Risky’ Morrison. Warren crunched plenty in his Valiant and in his cape and cowl celebrated on top of his Valiant upon taking the victory.

In the Ladies of the Dirt Wingless Sprints Carly Walsh was too strong for Samantha Millar and Rachel Cooper and secured the overall point score in the process and in the Wingless Open racing later in the evening Travis Millar defeated Todd Hobson, Bree Hall, Chris Temby and Jake Warren, or now known as Batman’s brother.

Jack Ramsdale continued on with his winning ways taking top place in the Speedway Sedan Australia Juniors with Zoe Young in second, Logan Mair third and Kiarna Barton and Daniel Attewell rounding out the top five.

Victorian champion Trish Dike won the Ladies Standard Saloons from Hayley Hutchins and Amanda Burrows and in the Men’s Standard Saloon racing Marcus Reddecliffe took the win from Andrew Dike, Bailey Perkins, Justin Hutchins and Stephen Douglas. Earlier Reddecliffe and Dike had a heated battle in heat one of the night that drew the attention of stewards and a black flag for Dike.

Leigh  Bourke won the Sports Sedans from Dale Morrison, Brad Warren, Ray Gould and Gavan Dorain and in the Grand Prix Midgets Perry defeated Lisa Chalcraft, Chris Fowler, Jason Crawford and Mark Blackeby.

Nyora return on June 23rd with the Bob Hickson Memorial for Open Sedans, Crash and Bash,  SSA Juniors and VSC Junior Standard Saloons.
